Teresita's views are by no means atypical, indeed I would cite them as representative of a broad spectrum of women in the West.

For Teresita to view the crime as horrific, and preventable, and one indicative of Muslim religion and custom (one and the same), she would then have to consider what it would take to prevent that crime or similar ones from occurring.

That's the logic of petulant child, and she knows it. But like the vast majority of women she'll cling to the fantasy of denial. Denial that failure to protect the helpless will only encourage further predation outside the Muslim community. Denial that the bad men won't stop at the invisible "Muslim" line.

Because any threat to the feminist, female power of consensus, social disapproval, fashion, fads, and political correctness and multiculturalism (a gigantic, feminine fad or social order akin to the ladies of Jane Austen's day) cannot be tolerated. Like most women, Teresita is willing to deny the obvious threat rather than give up one jot of social power to men who do the protecting.

Naturally, the enemies of teenage Muslim girls are Muslim men like Ahmad allied with Western Women like Teresita. No other political conclusion can be drawn.

Barack Obama's candidacy for President exemplifies the worship of exoticism in America.

If there is one constant defect within American culture, it is a disinclination to accept the beauty of one’s self, seeing it only within other people. When I grew up, I noticed how white women would get permanents and black women would make their hair straight. In America, there is a tendency to reject one’s own culture, history, body, and hair in order to embrace weird ideas from exotic peoples.

Barack Obama appeals to those who worship the exotic. They can exalt him as a guru, confident that his exotic family tree will bestow congenital wisdom upon him. The worship of the exotic shaman as the fount of wisdom appeals, to quote the immortal words of Tom Lehrer, to “a hard core who seem to equate authenticity with artistic merit and illiteracy with charm”.

One century ago, the exoticism of Mata Hari swept men off their feet (and into her bedroom). I sometimes think of postmodern exoticism as the love child of Martin Heidegger’s philosophical worship of authenticity and his erotic worship of exoticism in the avatars of Hannah Arendt and Elisabeth Blochmann.

The worship of the exotic is coming perilously close to becoming a state religion. Variously called “diversity” or “political correctness”, the worship of exoticism presumes that a culture will always be enhanced by the addition of a strange-looking person with an exotic background. This state religion assumes that only ethnic minorities have anything to culturally contribute to the greater good. So, Barack Obama confidently rattles off his supposedly exotic family tree, knowing it will be seen as proof of his good judgment as he descends from Olympian heights to save America from itself.

But does Barack Obama really understand other cultures? I doubt it. I doubt he even understands himself.

Exoticism is overrated. That which one generation regards as exotic becomes normal to the next generation. In any case, every person is exotic to somebody. America is exotic to much of the rest of the world. That which you regard as normal may be something people in far-off places marvel at. It may not seem exotic to shop at a supermarket, fill up at a gas station, or go to a modern bathroom, but each of these experiences would be exotic to some people. There are some places where a grilled cheese sandwich would be perceived as exotic; get used to being seen with fascination by somebody.

Far from being attuned to the feelings and emotions of far-off peoples, Barack Obama appears to be blind to the contradictions of his own heritage. For one thing, if there were any reparations for American slavery, the money would come from his own pocket. His ancestors owned black slaves, yet none of his ancestors was ever owned by a New World slavemaster. Never mind that any proposed slavery reparations would combine the sins of racist taxation, collective punishment, and ex post facto law; Barack Obama endorses reparations.

Barack Obama’s endorsement of Dorothy Tillman is no accident. Given her tireless crusade to institute slavery reparations, his endorsement could lead one to reasonably infer sympathy for what she stands for. Barack Obama said, “I think the reparations we need right here in South Carolina is investment, for example, in our schools.”

Good schools for all children would be part of basic fairness. We are one nation. As a matter of basic decency, we should care about the welfare of our neighbors and ensure opportunity for all of our people’s children. As one nation, we must not base any policy decision upon an inherently divisive ideology of reparations. Reparations effectively means a system of race-based taxation much like what the State of California instituted against Chinese Americans one century ago. Barack Obama’s rhetoric is not merely racist, but a clear signal of intent to institute a new regime of American apartheid based upon the principle of one race sending tribute to another race.

Is Barack Obama prepared to embrace his white heritage? Is he prepared to embrace the fact that his Kenyan father was culturally very different from American blacks? Is he prepared to embrace the fact that some black Africans are very proud of their slave dealing ancestors and sneer at the American descendants of slaves, saying, “We didn’t send our best over”?

Does Barack Obama’s seemingly multicultural heritage truly give him any insights into the mentalities of Dutch farmers, Romanian nurses, Russian soldiers, Japanese office workers, or Bolivian silver miners? Does he even understand the lives of supposedly “ordinary” Americans? Can he understand any grievance that does not base itself upon hatred of white domination? Can Barack Obama comprehend any grievance other people may feel against him? I have my doubts.

Barack Obama is neither as exotic as he appears nor is he as profound as his supporters may imagine. He is an educated and intelligent man with both the advantages of affluence and a pedigree that appeals to tokenism. He is also a deeply conflicted man who pines for the father who abandoned him and carries himself with the confidence that Islamic schooling gives a man, a man who has not fully reconciled himself to his heritage on his mother’s side of his family.

Empathy from a president isn’t enough; a president needs toughness and courage. Barack Obama may be a great professor to take a class from in college, but I wouldn’t want him guarding my back in a knife fight.

The Raw Story has this just up:

CBS News has confirmed, in advance of a 60 Minutes interview with outed CIA agent Valerie Plame to be run this Sunday, that Plame "was involved in operations to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons."

"Our mission was to make sure that the bad guys, basically, did not get nuclear weapons," Plame told 60 Minutes. Plame also indicated that her outing in 2003 had caused grave damage to CIA operations, saying, "All the intelligence services in the world were running my name through their databases" to see where she had gone and who she had met with.

It continues:

CBS states further that Plame "was involved in one highly classified mission to deliver fake nuclear weapons blueprints to Tehran. It was called Operation Merlin, and it was first revealed in a book by investigative reporter James Risen."

Reached on Saturday morning, Alexandrovna said she had known of Project Merlin when she wrote her 2006 article but was not allowed to discuss the operation, as per her agreement with sources, just the country involved. "I cannot confirm or deny that Plame was connected with Project Merlin, only that I was aware of it," Alexandrovna told Raw.

A Guardian story explaining the Risen reference to Merlin does not inspire confidence.

She had probably done this a dozen times before. Modern digital technology had made clandestine communications with overseas agents seem routine. ... by 2004, it was possible to send high-speed, encrypted messages directly and instantaneously from CIA headquarters to agents in the field who were equipped with small, covert personal communications devices. So the officer at CIA headquarters assigned to handle communications with the agency's spies in Iran probably didn't think twice when she began her latest download. With a few simple commands, she sent a secret data flow to one of the Iranian agents in the CIA's spy network. Just as she had done so many times before.

But this time, the ease and speed of the technology betrayed her. The CIA officer had made a disastrous mistake. She had sent information to one Iranian agent that exposed an entire spy network; the data could be used to identify virtually every spy the CIA had inside Iran.

Mistake piled on mistake. As the CIA later learned, the Iranian who received the download was a double agent. The agent quickly turned the data over to Iranian security officials, and it enabled them to "roll up" the CIA's network throughout Iran. CIA sources say that several of the Iranian agents were arrested and jailed, while the fates of some of the others is still unknown.

This espionage disaster, of course, was not reported. It left the CIA virtually blind in Iran, unable to provide any significant intelligence on one of the most critical issues facing the US - whether Tehran was about to go nuclear.

Ha-ha-ha. Somebody prop me up. If that story is false I can hardly stand from laughing. If it's true I can hardly stand for crying. But there's more.

But it's worse than that. Deep in the bowels of the CIA, someone must be nervously, but very privately, wondering: "Whatever happened to those nuclear blueprints we gave to the Iranians?" ...

The story dates back to the Clinton administration and February 2000, when one frightened Russian scientist walked Vienna's winter streets. The Russian had good reason to be afraid. He was walking around Vienna with blueprints for a nuclear bomb. To be precise, he was carrying technical designs for a TBA 480 high-voltage block, otherwise known as a "firing set", for a Russian-designed nuclear weapon. ...

The Russian's assignment from the CIA was to pose as an unemployed and greedy scientist who was willing to sell his soul - and the secrets of the atomic bomb - to the highest bidder. ... But Tehran would get a big surprise when its scientists tried to explode their new bomb. Instead of a mushroom cloud, the Iranian scientists would witness a disappointing fizzle. ... The Russian studied the blueprints the CIA had given him. Within minutes of being handed the designs, he had identified a flaw. "This isn't right," he told the CIA officers gathered around the hotel room. "There is something wrong."

In Vienna, however, the Russian unsealed the envelope with the nuclear blueprints and included a personal letter of his own to the Iranians. No matter what the CIA told him, he was going to hedge his bets. There was obviously something wrong with the blueprints - so he decided to mention that fact to the Iranians in his letter. They would certainly find flaws for themselves, and if he didn't tell them first, they would never want to deal with him again. ...

Just days after the Russian dropped off his package at the Iranian mission, the National Security Agency reported that an Iranian official in Vienna abruptly changed his schedule, making airline reservations to fly home to Iran. The odds were that the nuclear blueprints were now in Tehran.

The Russian scientist's fears about the operation seemed well founded. He was the front man for what may have been one of the most reckless operations in the modern history of the CIA, one that may have helped put nuclear weapons in the hands of a charter member of what President George W Bush has called the "axis of evil".

The point of the Guardian's breathless account is that the CIA may have managed to send the Iranians useful weapons design information by mistake, just like that unnamed "officer" at headquarters sent a list of intel assets in Iran to the Iranians by mistake. And now I guess we're going to hear about how George Bush recklessly endangered National Security by exposing Valeria Plame, thus compromising this travesty of an operation.

The Press is supposed to be the public's intelligence agency. On occasion one gets the impression that it too is a participant in a Wilderness of Mirrors. And not a very smart one either, which isn't to say those on the other side of the fence are always better. Imagine working in an environment where a serious intelligence operation is just a fancy name for planting rumors in a Risen book. And where the press sees itself as "players" in the great game. What is the truth or are they all recycling each other's sea stories? Should I laugh or should I cry?"

The reason: the level of comfort and the failure of a large part of "we" to understand that when "they" take over the level of comfort disappears; look around the World, everywhere "they" are in control, only the "few" are comfortable (NK being the most obvious example; France is not much different), which is pretty odd since "they" preach "they" are for the "common good", which "they" have yet to deliver anywhere...and Heaven help you for noting "their" failures(s), which, in the case of the jihadis and the Marxists, "we" do just by virtue of "our" existence. "They" must remove us ("we") from the face of the Earth. The problem is that "they" will remove the level of comfort the large portion of "we" sleep (Yamamoto allusion intentional) in and there will be Hell to pay.

Yamamoto worried about a terrible resolve and bin Hidin' and the genocidal-maniac Egyptian dwarf M.D. are correct in their estimation that the large portion of "we" could never get close to a terrible resolve as a result of a spiritual/emotional flabbiness borne of the level of comfort over here in "we"-ville. The mistake of bin Hidin' and the genocidal doctor and the rest of "they" is that "they" have no clue as to what replaces the lost "terrible resolve". "They" are betting a vacuum is created into which conversion or dhimmitude (whether to Islam or Marx; that question is not yet answered) will flow.

The resentment is palpable. Not the resentment of the spokesman of a Commander in Chief of a military vilified in an article that has already been retracted, but the resentment of reporters whose prerogatives have been questioned. "With respect, who made you the editor of Newsweek?", one asks. McClellan actually cannot finish a sentence in answer, because one of the prerogatives of this particular reporter is to ask the questions. "You've already said what you're -- I know what -- how it ends." And the question, although put in different words each time, is monomanaically the same: when did you stop beating your wife? "As far as the Newsweek article is concerned, first, how and where the story came from? And do you think somebody can investigate if it really happened at the base, and who told Newsweek? Because somebody wrote a story." And because "somebody wrote a story" the presumption was that the story had to be true, the retraction notwithstanding, as if it never existed, as if the retraction were completely irrelevant from the discussion. In a sense it is, because there was never a retraction. There may have been words which resembled a retraction, but it was never, ever really made because it is absolutely impossible to ever make it.

I woke up to the twittering of newstalkingheads about faux-arcania of British succession and then a couple, well into their middle age...and with the beautiful blush of happiness, came out a door and walked a short distance under a portico to a waiting car. He gracefully helped her out the door, down a step, kept her on his arm, and helped her into the car. She wore pure ivory, including her impossibly large hat (a British tradition). He wore a simple gentleman's morning suit...no symbol or badge of rank of honor to be seen. No fawning or scurrying courtesans for the entire short trip to the car.

They are a couple in love...who have had a long, hard and awful public road to this day. They are approaching the end of their days and they have finally figured out that true comfort and love lie in facing each other for eternity rather than in the hurly-burly of facing out to the world at any given monent. Good for them...much good for them and many years of it!

How can "they", the leaders of the "Party of the People", so smart and aware by their own testimony, believe that the rapacious currency speculator Soros is in this campaign because he detests GWB philosophically and wants to defeat him for the "good of the people"? How can "they" not see that history says much more strongly that the rapacious currency speculator Soros is in this campaign to set up his next great short position and profits (on the back of the US$) by electing a prep school buffoon whose economic policies will make us long for the days of the greatest Presidential failure in history, Jimmy Carter. Do "they" know what a short position is? Do "they" understand that the people really hurt by the return of such economic chaos here will be "the People" and NOT the eternal snipe of "the rich who do not pay their fair share" (you mean, like, who pay a bit less than 13% rather than about 30%?).

Pre-debate we are told over and over that Kerry is a polished debater since prep school, where he was so into it that he founded a debating society, that he is considered one of the best debaters in the Senate, and that Bush is unskilled and in for a whipping by Kerry.

The debate was 90 minutes of tedium with the only gaffe being Kerry's answer to the question on the use of preemptive force in the national interest. One would think that if the use of preemptive force in the national interest must first pass a "global test", then, by the time the global test is passed:

a.) it is most likely that the national interest (say...our interest in seeing that Iraq does not replace Afghanistan as the terrorists' base of global operations) will have been eviscerated by the global interests (maybe...France, Germany and U.N. officials skimming large amounts of Oil for Food money, therefore, being paid to ignore Iraq's evolution into the terrorists' base of global operations), which means that the national interest is lost in all likelihood, which is o.k. if you accept full well knowing that the terrorists have sworn to kill us and you are not willing to do anything about it; and

b.) the time and effort spent to gain global approval results in loss of all tactical surprise; a loss like that we are paying for now in Iraq.

Now we hear pundit after pundit after DNC hack after pundit telling us that, because we saw something that was near the pre-debate bloviation about a polished and comfortable guy being in there against a not as polished and less comfortable guy (great effort being made to stay away from the "global test" gaffe), Kerry won in some big way. He didn't. If anything Bush's unusual lower energy level and stick-to-it-tiveness on his central messages kept Bush from capitalizing on other Kerry gaffes and distortions.

...and the great Democrat response is to create a commercial of non-verbal facial expressions?! What up wit' dat?!! I suppose such a gambit would make sense if we were engaged in a race for fifth grade class president rather than for the leader of the free world...what's next? Are they following the President around with a microphone so they can create a Kerry radiospot of Chief Executive flatulence??!!!
